Automotive Air Tools

Dont work harder, work smarter. A collection of mechanic air tools is what sets the hobbyist and the automotive enthusiast apart. Air tools offer speed and power that make car work easier and faster. There will be no stopping you when it comes to painting, inflating, sanding and even cleaning up when you add garage air tools to your arsenal.

Add the Air

To start building your system start with an air compressor that meets your needs. Before you pick out the one for you, check the consumption rate of the tools you will be using to make sure the unit will run your tools. There are two types of compressors to choose between—single-stage and two-stage compressors. Another element to consider before you make a purchase is the pressure tank size. While larger tanks hold more air to keep the compressor from kicking on as often, smaller tanks are portable and easier to move around the shop.

Move the Air

Pipes, hoses, and fittings are often chosen based on garage size, budget, and how often you plan to use your pneumatic tools. For example, flexible rubber air hoses are easy to store and are an inexpensive option for occasional use while permanently installed rigid hoses are a better choice for larger garages. No matter which system you use the setup is the same. The hoses and tools connect via a quick-disconnect coupling. A trick to remember is to use plumbers dope or thread seal tape for airtight joints.

Tools

The sky is truly the limit when it comes to what you can do in the garage. Add an inflator and air gauge to inflate tires in the blink of an eye. If you need to buff out a little rust then add an orbital sander which offers more power and has a smoother action than doing it with sandpaper. Additional tools include but are not limited to a ratchet, drill, paint sprayer, die grinder, cutoff wheel and much more.

Time will fly by in your garage with pneumatic tools, and your projects will be completed much faster once you have the right tools.
