Epiphone Acoustic Guitars

Founded by Anastasios Stathopoulos, Epiphone makes musical instruments including acoustic guitars, double basses, and banjos. Epiphone acoustic guitars feature classic mahogany bodies and rosewood fretboards, vintage sunburst and hummingbird designs, as well as warm, resonant notes. Their acoustic guitars range from their Spanish Classic to their cherry red Hummingbird Artist.

Which Epiphone acoustic guitar is right for you?

The Epiphone guitar comes in three different body styles and three different sizes. Based on Gibson designs, these guitars are manufactured from mahogany, spruce, rosewood, and ebony woods. There is the Elitist “1964” Texan guitar crafted out of solid mahogany or the Plus Acoustic which is made from solid spruce and offers 5-layer Ivory and Black binding. When choosing the “right” guitar, however, select one that suits your needs and the venues you will be playing in.

The Dreadnought Line

The Dreadnought line uses a classic Gibson design. These guitars range in size from 1/4 to full and come in colors that range from all black, blue, cream, to vintage sunburst. Included in this selection is the Epiphone Dave Navarro Signature Model Acoustic-Electric Guitar.

The Jumbo Line

The Jumbo line offers thick, rich sounds through its onboard electronics. The cavernous body rings when played, and the cutaway shape combined with very fast action allows for easy access all the way up the neck. All the guitars in the Jumbo line are acoustic-electric guitars, except for the Epiphone AJ-220S Acoustic Guitar. The necks on these guitars are smooth and fast. This is the result of a special process that negates the use of filler in the fretboard. The guitars come with pickguards, finishes, and inlays. Colors are classic brown, black, and cream.

The Parlor Line

The Epiphone EL-00 Pro is an example of one the acoustic guitars on Epiphone’s Parlor line. It has a compact design, a mahogany neck, and built-in Fishman electronics. The Parlor line guitars have nylon strings and smaller bodies that will give you clean tones. Classic Gibson-inspired spruce tops, mahogany bodies, and rosewood fretboards make the nylon strings chime and sustain like bells. The Parlor line starts with a compact 1/4 size guitar for smaller hands. It also offers full-sized bodies.

Masterbilt Line

The Masterbilt series produces warm, rich tones and features flattop guitars constructed entirely from wood. The wood used for this line is mahogany, rosewood, Sitka spruce, and maple. The guitars also have a vintage-style shaded finish.
