The storied French brand began with its roots firmly planted in trunk-making heritage, but today Louis Vuitton is one of fashion’s most iconic luxury houses turning out coveted handbags, accessories, leather goods and ready to wear. Vuitton’s signature monogram and checkerboard Damier print, beloved on its sought-after bags and accessories, are among the most iconic patterns in fashion. But creative directors from Marc Jacobs to Nicolas Ghesquière have put the spotlight on its ready-to-wear collections as well. Designer Kim Jones incorporated streetwear into the men's offerings and current menswear maestro Virgil Abloh is taking that mood even further by adding skate and surf influences as well as updating the LV monogram with bold overlays. Collaborations with Jeff Koons, Stephen Sprouse and Takashi Murakami weren't just editorial darlings, they became instant collectables.
